Finidi receives Enyimba backing ahead of new NPFL season

Enyimba FC had a season to forget as they finished 7th in the league; the first time they have finished outside the top four since 2016.

There have been clamors for squad improvement and Heartland United, who got relegated last season, are feeling the heat as Enyimba signed four of their players to bolster their squad.

The signing of Chibuike Nwaiwu, Nonso Nzediegwu, Murphy Ndukwu, James Oronsaya and Chijioke Mbaoma will excite Coach Finidi George he will be open to additional options in his squad.

Chibuike Nwaiwu is a physical midfielder and signed a two years deal with the people’s Elephant, he is also viewed as a replacement for Farouk Mohammed who left the club after five years.

Enyimba is a team that loves to use the flanks and Nonso Nzediegwu and Murphy Ndukwu are explosive wingers, known for their pace and trickery and will add new dynamics to the team attacking-wise.

Enyimba also added striker Chijioke Mbaoma to their ranks and the pacey forward was handed the number 15 jersey and penned down a 2-year team.

The People’s Elephant also concluded a three years deal for Gateway United Captain James Oronsaya, the box-to-box midfielder who scored five goals in the NNL, he can play in any position in midfield and also boasts a treat from set pieces.
