Finidi gives Super Eagles Assurances as Team Fly out to Morocco for AFCON Qualifier

With three points in the bag from its first group game of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Nigeria will face Sao Tome and Principe on Monday seeking another win and assistant Coach Finidi George insists that’s the objective.

Nigeria beat Sierra Leone 2-1 inside an empty MKO Abiola Stadium on Thursday, but the victory wasn’t from a convincing performance.
In his post match remarks, head Coach Jose Peseiro stated that the team needed time to adapt, and Finidi reiterated the same before the Eagles flew out of Abuja for Agadir in Morocco.
The Nigerian contingent left the Country’s capital on Saturday night ahead of the game on Monday.
‘We are looking forward to playing a good game,’ Finidi George told NFF TV. ‘The purpose is to try and win.’
‘So this is Nigeria and we know Our fans want this Team to always win, but, We also must respect the opponent. What we can assure is that we’ll go there and give our best.’
