Nigeria U20 MNT were blown apart by their Brazilian counterparts in a 2-0 victory at the FIFA U20 World Cup.

Brazil U20 MNT needed a win to seal qualification to the knockout rounds, while Nigeria U20 MNT only needed to avoid defeat to top the group.

But, a frantic first half of intent from the South Americans decided the encounter, as Nigeria could not cope with the pace and trickery of the Opponent.

After a good opening 15 minutes by Nigeria, their opponents began to turn up the heat and deservedly went ahead in the 43rd minute through Jean Pedroso.

Four minutes later, Brazil doubled the lead in additional time of the first half after Marquinhos finished a scintillating counterattack.

They contained the Flying Eagles in the second half and were deserving winners.

However, the result leaves Nigeria in third place despite sealing qualification after Italy made light works of the Dominican Republic (3-0) to clinch the second spot.

Nigeria currently tops the third-place ranking and will be certain to be in the next round.
