FIFA readies preliminary report of Nigeria’s U20 Women’s World Cup bid

The world football governing body FIFA has confirmed that a preliminary report on the inspection team’s assessment of Nigeria’s facilities last month is to be made available today.

Facilities in Lagos, Benin, Asaba and Uyo were inspected when the FIFA team visited Nigeria; Africa has never hosted the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.

 

The world cup is scheduled for July 2020 and Nigeria has put forward a bid to host.

 

The Teslim Balogun Stadium and the Agege Township Stadium were inspected, as well as training Facilities and hospitals penned down to be used.

 

The newly built Sam Ogbemudia Stadium in Edo state has the nod and the Edo State government confirmed that it is ready to play host to the games.

 

In Akwa Ibom, the Godswill Akpabio Stadium will be put to use for the tournament, while the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba Delta State is also part of the facilities expected to host the world cup.
