Nigeria has moved one spot in the recent FIFA Men’s ranking.

The ranking released earlier this week saw Nigeria climb to 39th and 6th in Africa.

Fifa’s latest ranking is based on international played this month and thee points accumulated previously.

For Nigeria, the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier win against Sierra Leone provided a necessary boost.

Jose Peseiro’s side won 3-2 in Monrovia, securing entry into next year’s AFCON.

The three-time African champions are still in the top six on the continent, which is great news for them because it means they’ll be among the top seeds for the AFCON draw later in 2023.

Morocco holds the top spot in Africa and is ranked 13th globally.

They are followed by Algeria (33), Senegal (18), Tunisia (31), and Tunisia (34).
