FIFA opens Investigation against Argentina for Breach, Misconduct in World Cup final

World football governing body, FIFA, has confirmed that it has set up an investigation panel to look into the actions of the Argentine players in the course of their World Cup triumph over France in the final.

FIFA announced that it opened proceedings to look into the actions of Argentina’s players for the potential violation of many disciplinary codes in the course of the match and even after the match including Fair play and player misconduct.

The Statement read:

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has opened proceedings against the Argentinian Football Association due to potential breaches of articles 11 (Offensive behavior and violations of the principles of fair play) and 12 (Misconduct of players and officials) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, as well as of article 44 of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Regulations in conjunction with the Media and Marketing Regulations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, during Argentina v. France FIFA World Cup final.

Argentina beat France 4-2 on penalties after an enthralling 3-3 result after extra time.
