According to reports from Turkey, Super Lig side Fenerbahce have set their sights on forward Peter Olayinka if they cannot capture his Nigerian compatriot and former Trabzonspor star, Anthony Nwakaeme.

Olayinka has entered the final year of his contract in Czech Republic and has been attracting quite a number of interests.

Having been impressive for Slavia Prague, scoring 43 goals and providing 23 assists, leading the club’s forward line to three league titles.

Fenerbahce could not secure his services last season, but will give it a go again this season or Slavia Prague risk losing him for free.

Anthony Nwakaeme has been monitored by Fenerbahce since he turned down a new contract to stay at Trabzonspor, despite leading the team to the league title.

He currently plays for Saudi club, Al-Fayha, and has been touted for a return to Turkey, with Besiktas said to be also hot on his heels.

Now according to a Turkish outlet, Sporgundemi, Fenerbahce might just look to sign Olayinka instead of Nwakaeme.

Per Sporgundemi, The successful football player (Olayinka), whom İsmail Kartal wanted to transfer during his time as the coach of Fenerbahçe, entered the agenda of the Yellow-Navy Blue people again.

“İsmail Kartal submitted a report to the management for the player, whom he called “a complete team player, and asked for his transfer.”

“Unlucky for İsmail Kartal, Olayinka once again entered Fenerbahçe’s agenda. One of the alternative names of the Yellow-Navy Blues who wanted to transfer to the attack zone after Pedro’s injury was the 27-year-old football player.”
