Zaidu Sanusi was not in FC Porto’s matchday squad when the Primeira Liga Champions hosted Arouca at the Estádio do Dragão on Wednesday.
Sanusi who has been out since November, missing 8 games in the process was ruled out with a groin injury.
In his stead Brazilian Wendell has held fort and in the home midweek fixture, FC Porto ran riot 5-1.
Mehdi Taremi scored a hat-trick ( 18′, 34′, 50′), while Otavio (1′) and a Jerome Opoku (70′) owngoal showed how dominant Sergio Conceicao’s men were.
The visitors did get the final say though, with a consolation goal through substitute Bruno Marques (75′).
Victory moved Porto to within five points of leaders Benfica, who are yet to play their round of 14 match.
Meanwhile, although there’s no return date set for Zaidu Sanusi’s return, but he’s set to miss FC Porto’s game on the road to Casa Pia.
