10-man HJK were at the receiving end of a 4-1 massacre from FC Inter in the Finnish Veikkausliiga week five on Monday, reports Footballlive.ng.
It was a poor way to continue the season for the reigning champions who had central defender Faith Friday Obilor sent off in the 36th minute of pulsating action.
Former Monaco, Cercle Brugge and Standard Liege left back Elderson Echiejille scored the only goal for HJK at the Veritas Stadion.
Mika Lehkosuo’s side started in good mood and forged ahead in the second minute through Echiejille.
Timo Furuholm’s brace within the space of nine minutes swung the pendulum in favour of Inter.
Obilor made the game complicated for HJK when he was given the marching orders.
Juuso Haemaelaeinen then got in on the act four minutes after the interval, wonderfully sweeping into the far corner and clinically finishing past goalkeeper Maxim Rudakov.
Daniel Kamy compounded the Helsinki side’s misery four minutes after the hour mark, with his team’s fourth goal.
HJK will hope to lift themselves from the embarrassing defeat when they face Ilves at the Telia 5G -areena (Helsinki) on May 3.
