Nigerian soccer fans are set to choose a catchy slogan for the Super Eagles’ bus at this year’s World Cup, with something catchy expected in line with Nigerian tradition.
This comes after world soccer governing body, FIFA invited Nigerian fans to choose the slogan that will be emblazoned on the Eagles’ bus during Russia 2018.
Three slogans were shortlisted for each of the 32 participating nations in FIFA’s Be There with Hyundai Contest, and a Twitter poll will decide the winning slogan.
There are three options for the slogan that will appear in Nigeria’s bus at Russia 2018: 1 – The Spirit of Unity, 2 – The Dream Of One Team, The Heartbeat of Millions, and 3 – The Wings of African Pride”.
The Wings of African Pride was topping the Twitter poll with 48 percent of the 2,088 votes cast as at Saturday morning.
In second place is ‘The Dream Of One Team, The Heartbeat of Millions’ with 27 percent, while ‘The Spirit of Unity’ was the least preferred with 25 percent.
The winning slogan will be rewarded with a trip to Russia 2018, including accommodation in a four-star hotel and opportunity to follow the Eagles to the stadium for one of their matches.
