Ezenwa, Afelokhai Await Fresh Enyimba Contracts

Date:

Super Eagles goalkeepers, Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Theophilus Afelokhai are among several top players of Enyimba of Aba that are yet to report at the club for pre-season activities, due to unresolved issues about their contracts, footballlive.ng gathered.

Alongside Stanley Dimgba and Ifeanyi Anaemena, the two goalkeepers may not be part of The Peoples’ Elephants’ squad to the 2018 Alan Cup pre-season competition in Kano, unless their club’s management are able to resolve issues bordering on their contracts.
Meanwhile, the sponsor and originator of the annual Alan Cup pre-season competition, and Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) executive committee member, Sheriff Inuwa has promised that this year’s edition of the contest will be better than the first.
Although the competition is only set for its second outing starting on Saturday in Kano, Inuwa (aka Alan) said it will be thrills all the way till the final on December 18.
Ezenwa penned a year’s deal with The Peoples Elephant after severing ties with FC IfeanyiUbah of Nnewi, following the expiration of his deal with The Anambra Warriors.
“Enyimba going by the record remains the most successful club in Nigeria and I’m happy to be part of this great team.
“We have a lot of quality players in the team and I see no reason why we can’t win the title,” Ezenwa retorted after joining the Aba-based club.
