Kabiru Dogo has opened up on why he left NPFL side, Wikki Tourist, although the team also suffered a string of bad results.

In a chat with FL, Dogo revealed that the issues behind Wikki’s struggles were beyond results, and that interference from the board among other things formed the reason for his resignation.

The gaffer also revealed that during his time with Wikki Tourist, he was fighting for the team’s welfare.

He also revealed things were much easier when he didn’t feel sidelined and the hierarchy of the club were taking his advise.

“Wikki Tourist is not a bad team, as far as I am concerned, the two season I signed; although I could not finish the second year. We are human beings, we are bond to make mistakes. I believe the leadership of Wikki has realized, some of their mistake and why I resigned.

“It’s not about result , what I was fighting for there was welfare, respect the contract of my players and coaches and at the same time the issue of interference, based on the things I believe they are not doing professionally. And I believe I am in a position to advise.

“The first year when they listened, they allowed me to do my job, you see what the team was able to do,” Dogo said.

“This season there are some things we are doing that for me was not professional. I could not keep myself, so I felt I had to go.

“But Kwara United have a very good team it’s just a matter of time for them to explode, and if they don’t remember me for anything they will remember me for making the team and Standardizing the team.”

Just a day after his resignation the Coach was snapped up by Kwara United, and he led them to a goalless draw against Remo Stars in his first game in charge ending a two-game losing streak.
