Alex Iwobi made his 30th Premier League appearance of the Premier League season and played the entire match, as Everton lost 2-nil away to Manchester United.

The game started very closely as both teams had a go at each other, with the score line goalless, Iwobi made a great tackle and clearance in the 11th minute, denying Marcus Rashford a chance to score from the six-yard box.

Iwobi also made an impact in attack by providing a through pass to Demarai Gray in the 23rd minute, although the ball was eventually cleared.

Everton’s best efforts were soon thwarted by Manchester United all round quality.

In the 36th minute, Scott McTominay scored after being found in the box by Jadon Sancho.

Iwobi had a chance to respond for his team but saw his shot from 25 yards deflected for a corner kick.

Manchester United finished the first half strongly and they were even guilty of missing many open chances, Aaron Wan-Bissaka notably missing a sitter.

The second half was more of the same until the introduction of Anthony Martial, the Frenchman added urgency to the frontline and got Manchester United’s second goal in just over ten minute from his introduction.

In the end, Everton were unable to overcome the two-goal deficit and lost the match. With the defeat Sean Dyche’s men remain in 16th position on 27 points.
