Everton are on a steady dip in form and the downward spiral hit another low, following another failed bid to points in the Premier League in Wednesday’s match up against Newcastle.

Frank Lampard deployed every fit player as well as his trusted foot including Alex Iwobi from the blast of the whistle.

Everton were hoping to bounce back from the 2-0 defeat to Tottenham last weekend, but the Magpies proved a very difficult customer.

Miguel Almirón’s strike in the 31st minute eventually proved the match winner and condemned Everton to a third straight defeat.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Lampard subbed off Alex Iwobi before the final whistle.

Until Wednesday night, the Nigerian had played every minute of Everton’s matches in the current campaign, but was taken off in the 73rd minute.

Everton sits 15th on the English Premier League table, after 11 rounds of matches played and next face difficult Crystal Palace.
