Jarrod Bowen was the hero as his 90th minute goal decided the Europa Conference League Final between West Ham and Fiorentina.

In the first of two European finals between an English and an Italian side this season, it was Fiorentina that started the brighter of the two teams and even had a goal towards the end of the first half that was disallowed by VAR for offside.

West Ham got the opportunity to take the lead from the spot after a Fiorentina defender handled the ball in the box, and Mohamed Said Benrahma made no mistake to put the Hammers ahead.

Fiorentina were not going to go down without a fight and responded with an equalizer five minutes later, as Giacomo Bonaventura made no mistake with his composed finish after he was released on the break.

With the game heading towards extra time, which would have been a fair outcome due to the effort of both teams, Jarrod Bowen had other plans.

After some great link-up play with Lucas Paquetá, the Englishman did not disappoint with an excellent finish.

The last time the Hammers won a European final was in 1965, and the Europa Conference League title is their first major trophy in 43 years.
