Europa Conference League: Jose Mourinho wins first competitive game as Roma Manager, No show for Nwakaeme


Anthony Nwakaeme was shutout by the AS Roma defence when Trabzonspor clashed with Jose Mourinho’s side during the Europa Conference League first-leg play-off match at the Medical Park Stadium.

Nwakaeme played the entire duration of the game but Italians were efficient enough on the night to keep him at bay.
Jose Mourinho’s men were solid on both ends of the pitch and drew first blood. Lorenzo Pellegrini breaking the deadlock after 55 minutes.
The hosts responded when Andreas Cornelius headed home from inside the box some 11 minutes after the first goal of the match.
However, Roma were back in front, Eldor Shomurodov with a goal in his competitive debut for the club.
It was also Mourinho’s first competitive game since his appointment as Manager of the Giallorossi.
