The last may not have been heard about the battles of Stoke City midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo, as officials at his club have disclosed that he is yet to attain 100% fitness level.
In contrast with reports at the start of this week that Etebo had put himself in contention for a return to action this weekend, after sitting out since March 2, footballlive.ng can reveal that The Potters believe he still needs more checks ahead of their midweek Championship fixture.
Consequently, Etebo might now require a late fitness test to determine if he will be okay enough to battle Derby County, as Stoke seek another win in midweek to take them further up the second-tier league’s log.
It is now touch and go for Etebo, who earlier missed out on The Potters’ outing against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road on Saturday, but was back in training ahead of a date with Frank Lampard’s side.
However, Stoke confirmed Tuesday that they will have to wait on Etebo ahead of Wednesday’s game, as the 23-year-old continues his recovery from a groin injury he copped after scoring in his team’s 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest two weeks ago.
