Etebo stellar in Stoke City defeat to Birmingham

Super Eagles Midfielder Etebo Oghenekaro was in action for the entire duration as Stoke City were beaten 2-1 in the English Championship by Birmingham City.

Etebo was solid in the middle of the pack, alternating roles flawlessly and stood out even in defeat.

Stoke went ahead on 58 minutes with summer signing Liam Lindsay’s first goal for the club as the Defender got in first to head home from Tommy Smith’s cross.

Lukas Jutkiewicz levelled with his third goal of the season, heading home on 73 minutes, and 16 year old substitute Jude Bellingham came off the bench at St Andrew’s to hit Birmingham City’s winner in the 76th minute.

Etebo will however hope for a better outing in their next league game against Bristol City.

The former Warri Wolves midfielder scored a penalty in Stoke’s shoot out victory over Leeds United in the Carabao Cup few days ago.
