Etebo Aims To Justify High Rating Against Aston Villa

Date:

Stoke City midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo will aim to justify the recent high rating he received from one of his teammates, as he goes out in action for The Potters against Aston Villa, footballlive.ng reports.

Etebo will seek a starting shirt with the home side from 4pm at Bet365 Stadium, then target a top-notch performance that will not only cement his place in the starting 11 but also prove Charlie Adam right.

It was only at the start of this week that Adam rained accolades on the former Warri Wolves, CD Fereinse of Portugal and Las Palmas of Spain dazzler, such that Etebo will feel duty bound to prove his mettle.

He has high flying Villa to contend with, while his side are a lowly 17th on the English Championship table, which makes it a testy tie against the team that has Nigerian-born attacker, Tammy Abraham, on loan from top-flight London-based Chelsea, sinking goals one by the dozen.

However, Stoke’s veteran midfielder, Adam believes Etebo can help the home-side pull through, as he praises the lad’s impact so far this season.

Adam stated: “Etebo has been excellent since he came in and it’s good to see he is getting a run of games and playing at a level we know he’s capable of – and we know he can do more as well.”
