Esiti misses out on UCL playoff spot

There’ll be no Champions League football for Anderson Esiti this season, not with Ferencvaros he won’t after the Hungarian side fell short against Qarabag (4-2 aggregate defeat) in the third qualifying round of the competition.

Esiti who started the game, was replaced six minutes after the restart as the hosts trailed in the second-leg of the tie against the Azerbaijan side.
The first leg ended 1-1 a week ago in Baku, but Ferencvaros were trailing as early as the 7th minute on Tuesday night.
The hosts conceded again in minutes 54′ and 78′ before they scored a consolation four minutes from the end of regulation time.
With the end to their UCL aspirations, Ferencvaros will not hope to keep their dreams of European football alive in the lower tier of the inter-club competition.
