Enyimba international produced masterclass display in oriental derby win over their rivals Enugu Rangers at the Aba township stadium on Sunday.
The Usman Abdallah side came into the game with just six points behind the Flying Antelopes in the Nigeria Professional Football League Group A standing.
Rangers on their side , came into the crunch tie, at the back of two straight losses against Bendel Insurance of Benin and Rivers United and are willing to prevent another loss .
The first chance of the game fell to Rangers in the 4th minutes but top scorer Godwin Aguda fall to convert the chance as blaze over Theophilus Afelokhai’s goal.
The hosts however went in front in 14th minute. Thomas Zenke’s cross met Anaemena unmarked and the defender headed downwards and into Nana Bonsu’s net.
Four minutes later with Zenke the provider once again ,the former Nasarawa United winger broke down the left flank and squared for Guera whose effort was charged down and deflected but squeezed into the net.
Rangers reduced the deficit few minutes after the Enyimba’s second goal, Aguda arrived from the left to hammer a superb volley into the roof of Afelokhai’s net from Chiamaka Madu’s cross.
While Rangers were likely to score the equaliser , before Anaemena got his second heading home at the far post after striker Bashir flicked Stanley Dimgba’s inswinging free kick to his path.
Ranger international of Enugu has now lost three league matches in a roll after going twelve matches unbeaten, the Gbenga Ogunbote’s side also conceded eight goals in the process and scored just one in those three matches .
Enyimba are now just three points behind the Group A and they travel to Rivers United who lost 1-0 to third place MFM FC in Lagos.
