Two time African Champions Enyimba will lock horns with Rahimo FC of Burkina Faso over two legs in the first round of the CAF Champions League, while Pillars have their hands full as they are drawn against Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko.
Enyimba will hope their spending spree in the transfer market yields a positive return as they compete again in Africa’s finest club football showpiece after a four-year of absence.
The eventual winner between Enyimba and Rahimo will go on to face the winner between Sudanese side El Hilal and Rayon Sports of Rwanda in the second round with a group stage spot in sight.
Nigeria’s other representative, Kano Pillars have been handed a tricky test against Ghana’s Ashanti Kotoko.
They will however hope to go far on the continent, bearing in mind their exploits ten years ago when they got to the last four.
Winner between Pillars and Kotoko will take on either Etoile du Sahel or Hafia FC in the second round.
In the CAF Confederation Cup, Nigeria’s Niger Tornadoes will face Santoba Conakry in the first round, while Enugu Rangers were drawn bye in the first round.
