Emmanuel Dennis started for Nottingham Forest and got an assist for his side’s first goal in the League Cup game against Grimsby on Tuesday night.

Dennis completed his move from Watford earlier this month but had only got a bench role until Tuesday’s game.
He set up Ryan Yates inside the opening 18 minutes of the game to give Forest the lead.
The PL side doubled their lead in the 35th minute through Sam Surridge and and assist from Cafu, to close the half with their foot firmly on the gas.
Subsequently, Emmanuel was subbed off and in his place came Taiwo Awoniyi, who scored Forests’ first goal since their return to the PL after 23 years.
However, Awoniyi didn’t score on the night, it was another Cafu and Surridge combo that provided Steve Cooper’s side their winner on the 77th minute.
With the victory, Forest march on from round two of the competition.
