Former African Player of the Year, Emmanuel Adebayor, has heaped praises on the performance of African teams at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup tournament.

Among the four African representatives at the Women’s World Cup, three teams reached the round of 16.

Zambia was the only team not to make it out of the group stage, while Nigeria, Morocco, and South Africa made the cut.

Unfortunately, that proved to be the last stop for all teams, but it wasn’t without giving it a fight.

In a chat with FL, Emmanuel Adebayor revealed he was very impressed and proud of the teams’ performances.

“We were all rooting for them; unfortunately, their journey ended and they have to come back home, learn, go to their clubs, and do their thing.

“We are very proud. I was impressed. They made it to the round of 16; it was not easy. But we are now looking forward to the next one.”
