El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri attacking midfielder, Kabiru Balogun is delighted to help his claimed victory over Plateau United in one of the matchday 15 fixtures of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
El-Kanemi Warriors has been one of the surprised team of the season and their latest 1-0 victory over their Northern rivals on Sunday saw them tie with Group B leaders Akwa United on the same points but the Promise Keepers enjoying a better goal difference.
Reacting to the latest victory, Balogun told footballlive.ng he’s happy to help the Mohammed Babaganaru side to stay in contention for a play-off spot.
“I’m happy to score the winning goal, which happened to be the only goal of the game”,
“It wasn’t easy playing against Plateau United but we dug deep and got the three points we wanted”.
The former Kano Pillars and Nasarawa United star added that the Borno Army won’t falter in the race for super six spot come end of the season.
“We are confidence of achieving our aims , which is to fight for the title , but we must qualify for the playoff first , then we will what happen next.” He concluded.
Kabiru Balogun has scored two goals for El-Kanemi Warriors this season since arriving from Nasarawa United during the mid season transfer.
