Center-back William Troost Ekong was the hero of the day for Salernitana, as he netted the last-gasp goal that saw his side come from behind to win 3-2 against Udinese, on Saturday, in the Serie A.

Ekong hit home a volley in what was practically the last kick of the game to make sure Salernitana picked maximum points against his former employers.

It was also his first goal for the club since his January transfer window move from Watford FC.

Udinese had raced to a two-goal lead and were looking on course to securing the three points, but they would not survive Salernitana’s onslaught and Ekong made sure of it.

The hosts rallied and scored two goals – Grigoris Kastanos (43′) and Antonio Candreva (57′). Udinese were reduced to ten men, three minutes from time following the sending off of Marvin Zeegelaar (87′).

However there was still some late drama to come and Ekong delivered it in the sixth minute of stoppage time for Salernitana to claim maximum points.
