Super Eagles defender Williams Troost Ekong has stated that Nigeria’s youthfulness at the Africa cup of nations 2019 is one of the positives that can be seen in the Super Eagles team after Nigeria’s journey at the AFCON ended with a Third place finish.
Ekong speaking in his assessment of the Super Eagles AFCON 2019 outing said in a chat gathered by www.brila.net that the Nigerian team has an average age of 24 which means a big future ahead of the team and opportunity to still play as many games and tournaments together.
“Youthfulness is the power of our team, we said we wanted to do something special with the AFCON and this is the first tournament after the world cup. If you look at our team, the average age is 24 and that means we are still going to be able to play a lot more AFCON together and hopefully one or two more world cups. The future is bright.”
