Super Eagles center half William Troost-Ekong has expressed satisfaction with the team’s resurgence in the win over Tunisia after the deflating defeat to Algeria in the semi-final.

Ekong was voted man of the match after Nigeria’s narrow 1-0 win, but admits the team wanted more than bronze in Egypt.

Speaking after receiving his award, the defender said, “I think I have a good tournament and am happy with the team as well, we had an unlucky moment in the game against Algeria but, that’s football.

“In the game against South Africa I scored the winning goal, you have to take your opponent together and try to do that at the same time.

He also revealed how he would be spending the break before joining up with Udinese for pre-season.

“Well am happy right now, will return to the family and spend the holidays with them.”
