William Troost-Ekong’s second half Own goal saw the Super Eagles fall 2-1 against Mexico in an International friendly on Sunday.

Ekong turned the ball into his net with the score tied at 1-1 after Cyriel Dessers (54′) canceled out Santiago Gimenez’s opener in the 12th minute.
It was a game of two halves, but the Central Americans dominated the new look Super Eagles.

Under the guidance of their new Coach, Jose Peseiro, the team started slow but found their rhythm in the second half.
Peseiro got his reign as Nigeria’s off to a losing start but can tie up the nuts and bolts before the next game against Ecuador on June 2.
