After the disappointment of their Premier League defeat at the weekend, Watford bounced back with a narrow 1-0 win against Crystal Palace in the second round League cup match on Tuesday night, and the Nigerian trio of William Troost-Ekong, Peter Etebo and Dennis Emmanuel got game time.

Dennis came of the bench in the second half, while Ekong and Etebo were starters and played the entire duration of the game.
It was a much better performance for the CB who was clearly the best outfield player on the night.
A game high 10 clearances, 3 blocks and 2 aerial battles won including a goal attempt, he did everything, Ekong.
However, the Hornets’ match winner would come through Ashley Fletcher with only four minutes left of regular time.
Francisco Javier Muñoz Llompart a.k.a Xisco guided his men into the third round of the league cup and will find out who they face next in the draw scheduled for August 25.
