Egypt FA suspends Zamalek captain Shikabala for attacking FA President, Al Ahly fans


Zamalek captain Mahmoud Abdelrazek ” Shikabala” has been handed an Eight-month suspension over his conduct against the Egyptian FA president Ahmed Megahed after the team won the league title and leading a chant of diatribes at arch rivals Al Ahly.

Shikabala and a Zamalek teammate, Hazem Emam, were punished for misconduct as contained in an FA statement according to Ahmad Gamal Ali [KingFut].
Zamalek ended Al Ahly’s reign as League champions by lifting their 13th title on Tuesday night after beating Entag El-Harby in their penultimate match of the season.
Describing the scenes of the White knights’ celebration, Ali wrote:
The aftermath of the game was chaotic, to say the least after EFA president Ahmed Megahed refused to properly hand the trophy to the Zamalek team, which caused a very disorganized ceremony.
It was later reported that White Knights captain Shikabala had an altercation with Megahed, who hadn’t informed the police to let some Zamalek players, who were outside the matchday squad, from entering the stadium to celebrate with their teammates.
Moreover, Shikabala was seen after the game leading some of his teammates, chanting insults at Al Ahly and their fans.
The punishments
Eight-month suspension and LE 500,000 fine due to misconduct for Shikabala.
Four-match suspension and LE 100,000 fine due to misconduct for Hazem Emam.
LE 100,000 fine for Zamalek for fans misconduct during the second half of Bank Al Ahly game.
LE1 00,000 fine for Zamalek for fans pitch invasion during the second half of Bank Al Ahly game.
