Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Augustine Eguavoen has expressed his belief that, the Super Eagles possess the necessary quality to win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Eagles last clinched the prestigious continental title in 2013, when they triumphed in South Africa.

With the tournament set to take place in Côte D’Ivoire next year, the Super Eagles will be aiming to secure their fourth AFCON title.

Drawn in Group A alongside the host nation as well as Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau, Jose Peseiro’s men face a challenging path to potentially winning the AFCON title.

However, the former Super Eagles coach remains confident in the team’s abilities and asserts that they have what it takes to overcome the competition of the other 23 participating nations.

“We have been craving to try to get the Nations Cup back; since 2013 we’ve not been able to achieve that feat; we know we have the capacity, we have the quality and everything to be able to win it,” Eguavoen told FL.

“But to say it is easy to achieve, is another thing, so everybody has to work towards the same goal; support the team whichever way we can, support the coaches and the players have to go out there and do the job.”
