Edwin Okon back with Super Falcons, gets Scouting and coaching roles


Former Super Falcons head Coach Edwin Okon has returned to the team’s technical bench FL has gathered.

Okon, who is also the head Coach of Rivers Angels, was at the NFF secretariat where he had a meeting some of the FA’s top officials including the President and Technical Director.
The coach confirmed that the invitation was with regards to a role in the Super Falcons.
Although American Randy Waldrum is still the team’s head Coach, Okon is expected to work with the home based players.
‘My role will be scouting, technical and training and working with them at home,’ he explained.
The 51 year-old coach, who is a respected Women’s football coach in the Country, was in charge of Nigeria’s U20 women’s national team.
He led the Super Falcons to the 2014 Africa Women Cup of Nations title and to the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada.
Edwin Okon is joined by Justin Madugu, the latter also doubles as the coach of Adamawa United.
