Tyronne Ebuehi is set to remain in Italy, but will make a permanent transfer from Primeira Liga side Benfica.
According Italian transfer expert Gianluca DiMarzio, Ebuehi will join Empoli on a three-year deal with the option of a fourth year.
The deal is on the table for the Right-back, who will undergo his medicals before next week and DiMarzio reports that Benfica has inserted a sell-on clause in the contract.
“Tyronne Ebuehi sarà presto un nuovo giocatore dell’Empoli, dove ritroverà Zanetti, che l’ha allenato la scoersa stagione a Venezia. Il terzino destro olandese di origini nigeriano di proprietà del Benfica svolgerà le visite mediche di rito tra oggi e domani,” the Italian Journalist wrote.
Last season, the Nigerian spent the entire campaign at newly promoted Venezia, but the club was relegated.
He made 19 league appearances and missed 10 games due to injury and one through suspension.
His loan deal expired last month, but with one year left on his Benfica contract, Ebuehi is also seeking a new chapter as his time at the Portuguese club didn’t quite go according to plan.
