Three Nigerians were in action when Leicester City hosted Southampton at the King Power Stadium, Saturday, in the Premier League.
Wilfred Ndidi started for Leicester City, while Kelechi Iheanacho was a second half substitute.
For the Saints, Joe Aribo returned to the starting XI after coming off the bench last weekend against Leeds United.
Aribo was deployed wide and in an attacking role, but he did quite well in the defensive transition, with 5 tackles, 1 interception, 1 block and 3 aerial duels in his Eighty-eight minutes on the pitch.
Meanwhile Ndidi was on of the standout performers for Leicester, who have struggled in the opening weeks of the new season.
The 25 year-old Midfielder was went head on into duels, getting involved in 7 tackles – the most by any player.
He made 3 interceptions and 1 block, but his best efforts couldn’t help the Foxes avoid defeat.
Despite drawing first blood from a James Maddison free kick in the 54th minute, Brendan Rodgers’ side let slip and were punished in the 68th minute by Che Adams and in the 84th minute Adams got his brace.
A first win for the Saints, while Leicester have lost back to back games and are still without a win from three opening league matches.
