Eagles Need Commitment, Luck, Prayers – Imama

Date:

Super Eagles assistant coach, Imama Amapakabo has declared that the team need more than commitment and determination from the players to beat Seychelles on Saturday, as he acknowledged that luck and prayers also play a key role in getting good results.

While affirming that the Eagles’ crew are doing everything to marshal the right winning formula and formation for Saturday’ Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Seychelles, the 2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) winning coach said they need more.

With that in mind, Imama has now called on all Nigerians at home and abroad to pray for the Eagles, as he believes they need an iota of luck to pull through on Saturday, especially as it is an away match.

Imama stated further that the Eagles are very much aware of the importance of the game, after they lost 2-0 at home to South Africa in their first match of the AFCON 2019 qualifiers and now need a revival.

The former youth international goalkeeper declared: “The players are fully aware of the importance attached to the match, after we lost the first game to South Africa at home.

“The match will give us a clear idea of our qualification to AFCON 2019. But apart from the commitment of the players, we need the element of luck and prayers of Nigerians.”
