Former Super Eagles player Mutiu Adepoju has stated that the early qualification of Nigeria’s Super Eagles to the knockout round of the ongoing Africa cup of nations with a game to spare will do a lot to boost the confidence of the team as the team continue to build its reputation as one not needing a lot of permutations typical of most Nigerian sides to qualify.
Adepoju speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said the qualification of the Super Eagles will also help allay any form of anxiety and gives the team the confidence needed to prosecute the tournament having been able to get the required results in the two games played already.
“I think it’s a good thing, good start even though first game against Burundi it was really tough before the team could get the goal. And they got the goal against Guinea too to earn six points which has qualified us. So it’s a good thing and I believe we are going to be more confident to play the rest matches.”
