Everton’s new Manager bounced was tested by Liverpool at Anfield in the Merseyside Derby, and it seemed Sean Dyche still has a lot to do to turn things around in the team.

A Mohamed Salah first half goal, assisted by Darwin Nunez and a debut goal for Cody Gakpo in the 49th minute settled the contest.

The Toffees struggled to cope with their City rivals on both end of the pitch, a reflection of the actual gulf in quality between both teams.

Although Everton did come close on a few occasions to scoring, but the attackers lacked the cutting edge.

Dyche put his trust in a number of the players who featured in the win against Arsenal, including Alex Iwobi.

Iwobi played down the right flank, but he didn’t have many good moments in the game. The 26 year-old did create a fine cross late on in the game, but substitute Tom Davies header off target, capturing Everton’s game in that one moment.

Meanwhile, the defeat leaves Everton 18th on the standings with 18points from 22 round of matches.

Next up for Sean Dyche and his men is a home game against Leeds United at the weekend.
