Former Nigeria international, Duke Udi has slammed former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor, for his comments on the form of Liverpool midfielder, Fabinho.

The Brazilian midfield anchor has seen his performance this season, come under scrutiny, as he, very much like the club has not been convincing and have largely struggled.

Gabriel Agbonlahor, on his assessment of the situation, said Fabinho is no longer a player of quality; enough to play in the English Premier League.

Speaking on Brila FM’s breakfast show, No Holds Barred, with former West Brom player Ifeanyi Udeze, the former Player and Coach defended Fabinho.

‘It is only a phase and it is normal to happen to every footballer. At some point footballers will endure dipping points and rise out of it, Fabinho looks like he can get back to his best.’

In defence of the Liverpool midfielder, Duke Udi said Gabriel Agbonlahor has no right to make derogatory remarks at others because he did not have it easy while he was active.

‘Agbonlahor as a striker did not have as much success even for England as Fabinho has had so far in his career.’
