Dessers Confirms His Rumored Transfer Destination

Cyriel Dessers has all but confirmed his exit from KRC Genk this summer with a move “abroad” most likely to be on the cards.

A season long loan at Feyenoord ended with Dessers finishing as the Team’s top scorer in the Europa Conference League.
Feyenoord lost in the final of the competition to AS Roma, but the consolation for De Trots van Zuid, was booking a spot in the Europa League next season.
Dessers admits it was a “pretty good season”, but he couldn’t get the deal to keep him in De Kuip as the Dutch failed to meet Genk’s €4 million asking price.
“I think I had a pretty good season, I score 21 goals,” the Forward tooted his horn. “We got to the final which was an unbelievable achievement unfortunately we lost it against AS Roma.”
“Also in the league we did some pretty good thing because Feyenoord had some difficult seasons and I think this season we built up the confidence again and we built the relationship with the Fans with some nice football; attacking football and with a lot of goals, and I think that may be the biggest victory we had this season.”
Meanwhile, there has been multiple reports of Fiorentina showing interests in the Nigerian and though no official offer has been made, La Viola remain a likely destination.
Speaking on his choice destination in the Summer transfer window, Dessers acknowledged he had done enough to take his game to the next level.
Asked if he wants to stay in Belgium or return to the Eredivisie, the Forward said, “I don’t look at it like that because, maybe it is also possible I make a move abroad I am 27 year-old now.”
“I had a good season; becoming top scorer in the Conference League so maybe this is also the time for me to make the step abroad.”
