Cyriel Dessers has joined Italian side US Cremonese from KRC Genk, the club’s announced, Wednesday.

The newly promoted Serie A side secured the services of the Forward for a fee in the region of €6.50 million from Genk.

Dessers, who had signed for KRC Genk in the summer of 2020, made a dream move, joining his boyhood club from Eredivisie side Heracles Almelo.
However, the Forward struggled to hold down regular game time and soon left on loan back to the Dutch top flight with Feyenoord.
At Feyenoord, the 27 year-old guided the side to the Europa Conference League final and finished as top scorer.
However, Feyenoord could not match Genk’s asking price for the Forward, prompting his return to his parent club.
Cyriel Dessers forced his move from Genk despite a fine start to the Jupiler League season where he already had three goals in as many games.
Meanwhile, the new Serie A season kicks off this weekend and the Nigeria international will team up with compatriot David Okereke, who also joined the Lombardy based club this transfer window.
US Cremonese will travel to Florence where they’ll face Fiorentina, in the season’s opening game.
