Despite losing in the NPFL match against Sunshine Stars in Akure, Sunday, Lobi Stars head coach Mohammed Babaganaru praised his team’s character and effort during the game.

In their 15th match of the season, the former League champions lost 1-0 on the road to Sunshine Stars at the Akure Sports Complex, a small dent to their chances of finishing top of the group.

According to Babaganaru, the players’ performance improved from their previous game in Yenagoa.

“We worked with the players after our game against Bayelsa United last week,” he said in a post-match interview.

“They responded well to every detail we told them in training and am satisfied with that.”

With three games remaining until the season is through, Lobi Stars still top group B with 26 points, surprisingly, just a point above new comers Doma United.

Defending champions, Rivers United are third on the table with 23 points, albeit they have two games in-hand.
