Dennis Emmanuel torments Chelsea, but Blues survive trip to Vicarage Road

Watford’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Vicarage Road was a tough loss for the hosts, who despite their league position played gallantly and would feel they deserved more on the night.

Chelsea took the lead while the team was on the ascendancy, but the Hornets responded through Dennis Emmanuel for his sixth PL goal of the season.
He was on the end of a quick break after Chelsea were disposed in midfield. But he still had a lot to do with Antonio Rudiger and Edouard Mendy to beat.
Getting past the duo was no problem for the WF though, who beat his marker with quick feints before unleashing a low guided shot – which ricochetted off the CB – and nestled in the far side of Mendy’s goal.
The Nigerian was unplayable and caused Chelsea’s midfield and midfield lot of problems with his pace and deft touches.
Dennis could have easily picked up two assists in the game but poor finishing and the small question of the lack of a winning mentality grounded Watford’s aspirations for a better outcome.
The Nigerian was the standout performer in the encounter and by a mile, but Hakim Ziyech wrapped up the points for Chelsea with his goal in the 72nd minute.
The Moroccan who was a second half substitute scored off an assist from Mason Mount, the latter had given the visitors the lead in the first half.
Meanwhile, Watford also had William Troost-Ekong start and play the entire duration of the game.
The 28 year-old who had struggled with poor form in the last couple of games, showed some improvement.
