Emmanuel Dennis was called off the bench in Watford’s League Cup match against Stoke City on Tuesday, but the Forward couldn’t stop the inevitable as the Hornets’ run in the competition came to an end.

Dennis came on in the 80th minute with the team trailing 2-1, he barely impacted the game and five minutes after his introduction, the visitors stretched their lead and effectively killed off the contest.
The Championship side jumped into the driver’s seat in the opening 45 minutes after they shot ahead in the 25th minute through Nick Powell.
Watford would respond, but in the second half, with their only goal of the game. Ashley Fletcher levelled just past the hour mark.
Samuel Clucas (80′) and Josh Tymon (85′) also found the back of the net to stun the PL side in the third round elimination.
“It was an incredible game,” Watford head coach Muñoz said. “We had a lot of chances and the keeper made lots of saves, we hit the post and we missed shots in the first and second half.
“It sometimes happens in football, but we need to keep going. The positive thing is we are working very hard.”
