Manchester United completed a double over Nottingham Forest in the semi-final of the EFL Cup against Nottingham Forest.
A 3-0 win in the first leg at City ground last week was followed by another comfortable 2-0 Manchester United victory at Old Trafford at Old Trafford sent the Red Devils marching on to Wembley.
Wednesday’s win came in the second half and courtesy of substitutes, Anthony Martial (73′) and Fred (76′) to wrap up the tie and set up a finale with Newcastle United.
Meanwhile on the night, Emmanuel Dennis got another chance to get more game time.
Dennis looked solid, covered both ends of the right flank, as he battled the Manchester United duo of Bruno Fernandes and Antony.
He caused them some considerable amount of problems in the first half.
In the second half, the Nigerian created a good moment to Forest, playing Danilo through, but the Brazilian’s effort was beaten away in a confident one-handed save by Tom Heaton.
However, Forest crash out of the competition, but will now have to turn their focus to more pressing matters in the Premier League, as they continue their fight to stay up for next season.
Coming up for Steve Cooper’s side is a home game against fellow strugglers Leeds United.
