With the sound of the whistle at the Osogbo City Stadium later today, Delta Queens FC will kick start their race in the 2018/2019 NWPL season as they’re billed to face Osun Babes FC.
Fresh from their 2-0 triumph in the AITEO Cup round of 16 over Osun babes, the Delta State team is optimistic of victory in the away encounter says Orim Esima.
The team’s Technical Adviser, Coach George Emenitie who assured that the spirit is high among his players, noted that they are out to upturn their results from the last two matches at the Osogbo township stadium.
“The players are brewing with confidence and Osun Babes is not an unknown side. We are optimistic of a win.
“It’s going to be an interesting opener for both sides because while we look forward to averting a repeat of our last two results away to them, they will be hoping to pick a revenge for a recent FA cup round of 16 defeat from us,” the Coach said.
The likes of Brume Ikhekua, Mary-Ann Ezeanagu, Maryann Ohadiwe, Rose Ekong and other prolific players, Emenitie’s side is filling out against a familiar foe gunning for a favourable result.
Delta Queens are in same group with Rivers Angels, FC Robo and Osun babes in an abridged NWPL; only one team will emerge from each group.
The group leaders will then be part of the Super Four play-off.
