Tom Dele-Bashiru followed up a fine display against Hull City with an even more impressive show on Saturday at the John Smith’s Stadium against Huddersfield in the Championship.
In his second start all season, Dele-Bashiru was crucial to guiding Watford to a comfortable 2-0 win over the League’s bottom side.
The Midfielder provided on assist and also played the entire duration of that game for a second consecutive game under Slaven Bilic.
In the 54th minute, he set up Joao Pedro for Watford and the game’s first goal.
Joao Pedro then doubled, grabbing his brace with four minutes of regular time left.
The performance secured the Hornets maximum points and propelled them to fourth in the standings, leapfrogging Norwich City.
However, they remain 10 ticks behind league leaders Burnley, who smashed Middlesbrough 3-1and Chuba Akpom missed a 90th spot kick.
Meanwhile, William Troost-Ekong was an unused substitute for the second game running and Samuel Kalu remains out injured and Maduka Okoye was also not in the matchday squad.
In another Championship match, Oluwasemilogo Ajayi was not in the squad when West Brom played host to his former side Rotherham at the Hawthorns.
Ajayi joined the Baggies after two seasons as a Rotherdam player, after he helped them gain promotion from League One to England’s second tier.
However, the Nigeria is currently out injured, but, West Brom found a way as they netted three times and kept a clean sheet.
