KF Shkupi got their UEFA Champions League campaign off to a good start with a comfortable 3-0 home victory against Lincoln Red Imps on Tuesday.
It was a UCL debut for the Macedonian Champions, who won their first ever League title last season spurred on by their Nigerian Striker Sunday Adetunji.
Adetunji was in action yesterday – for the entire duration of the game – making his Champions League debut as well.
The Forward signed it off with a goal to continue where he left off last season with Shkupi.
He doubled the Shkupi’s lead in the 28th minute after Senegal’s Mamadou Danfa (11′) scored their first ever Champions League goal.
Playing against a much experienced side didn’t seem to bother the Macedonian Champions much and in the second half they got a third, albeit from an own goal (62′).
However the hosts finished the game with 10 men after a second booking for Gagi Margvelashvili in the 58th minute.
Margvelashvili will now miss the return-leg of the first qualifying round game in a week’s time at the Victoria Stadium.
