Nigeria’s main objective at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations should be reaching the semi-finals where they’d be guaranteed a ticket at the FIFA U20 World Cup, according to former U23 Olympic Eagles striker Dahiru Sadi.

The Flying Eagles are due to face Uganda in the quarter final at the Suez Canal Stadium on March 2, and victory will deliver the World Cup ticket.

“The main objective is just to qualify for the FIFA U20 World Cup, I am happy with what the coach said, that the team will take it one match at a time.

” So, now the objective is just to qualify for the World championship, thereafter we can think about the Cup.

“The match against Uganda is very important, once you reach the semi-finals automatically you qualify for the World Cup. We have good players, quality players, so I don’t have any fears about the match against Uganda.

“I have read so many things about what the players are saying; they have confidence and that is what you need when you are facing a lot of pressure.

“I dont think the pressure will be there for them because of the confidence I saw in their past match.”
