Cyriel Dessers has revealed his struggles with the incessant injuries that have affected his game since moving to Italy.
Dessers arrived in Italy for a fee of €6.5 million from KRC Genk, but injuries have plagued his transfer to the Serie A this season and it has affected his role.
He lost his place as the first-choice striker at Cremonese, and that has seen Ghanaian forward Felix Afena Gyan take up the role.
“A few weeks ago, I suffered an injury and after two games without minutes it wasn’t easy for me.
“Now, however, I’m training well, I have good sensations and if I can get minutes, I can go back to doing my job as best I can.
The Nigeria international came off the bench to score a brace in the defeat to Sassuolo on Monday, taking his tally up to 5 goals in 19 games for Cremonese who are on the negative side of the relegation battle in the Serie A.
“I’m happy for the two goals, but I can’t be fully satisfied because we wanted to win,” he told the club media.
